Testimonials

We thoroughly enjoyed Eagles Rest. Upon arriving, our 15 month old loved running around the property, especially feeding the fish. The cabin is a great cabin for couples or families. We loved opening the windows for a fresh breeze and sounds of crickets/frogs. The hot tub is an excellent addition to the home. We were able to utilize the hot tub every night and loved the solar powered fireflies glistening in the night. Loved being able to walk down to the stream, where you can sit on a bench to enjoy the quietness of nature. We have stayed in three of the five Classic Carolina Homes and would recommend staying in any of them. Richard is always a pleasure to work with. Thanks Richard for the recommendation of Hot Dog World, it was fantastic! Thanks for making our Apple Fest weekend relaxing and comfortable!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eagles Rest Lodge. The cabin was well appointed and had everything we could wish for in terms of cooking and linens, not to mention games, books (I read two that were on the shelf) and even little things like mosquito spray, though we didn’t need it the week we were there. Our two twenty-something year old kids enjoyed the hot tub on several occasions. We turned the air off the moment we got there and enjoyed the wonderful sounds of the forest and creek as we fell asleep each night. The cabin is well situated, away from the hustle and bustle, but in reach of many day tripping adventures. We visited downtown Hendersonville, downtown Brevard, Mt. Pisgah, the Dupont Forest, Lake Lure, and though I’m not into it, my husband and kids went ziplining at The Gorge while I enjoyed the shops in Saluda and had a wonderful meal at The Purple Onion. Close to town, yet far enough away to enjoy the solitude of the mountain, we would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to get away from the 9-5 life for a while. We are already planning next year’s trip. Thanks, Singer family for a great place to call our home on our annual trip to the mountains of North Carolina.

Great house for a family with kids, our 4 kids range from 4-13. We had relatives who live nearby over several times and the main level of the house easily handles a very large crowd. Very tucked away on a beautiful, serene, lush private property yet within a half hour drive to Asheville, Lake Lure/Chimney Rock, Brevard, Blur Ridge Pkwy, Hendersonville, Mills River, all of which we day-tripped to. Highlights were boating/beaching on Lake Lure, going out Rock climbing with Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School based in Brevard, zip lining, tubing, looking glass, splashville in Asheville for the little ones downtown Asheville, hiking Graveyard Fields in Pisgah forest and swimming in the swimming hole there, Hendersonville, Chimney Rock and Brevard. The game room/garage was an added bonus, nothing fancy but perfect for our rainy afternoons. The hot tub was a huge hit day and night and the view while in the hot tub and listening to the creek running by was fabulous. House amenities in kitchen, bedrooms and paper products supplied were plenty. Nice clean house. Large dining table was great and large kitchen island was the best, I want that in my house! We used the grill and washer/dryer daily with no problems. Satellite dish Internet/cable was sketchy on a few occasions but was overall decent and we did have lots of heavy rain which caused the lost connections. No AT&T cell coverage but used landline for local calls. It was kind of nice to be “unplugged” from texting! Big circular paved driveway was easy to navigate in our non-4 wheel drive. Games and puzzles and local attraction books, maps and magazines provided and a great collection of DVD’s (in our opinion). The master bedroom is very large we had our youngest and our nephew sleeping on air mattresses in with us with room to spare. (We brought air mattresses ourselves) Had 2 boys sharing a full size bed in one room and our teen in the smaller bedroom. Master bed was like sleeping on a cloud, very comfy! Owner Beth came by one day while a new fridge was being installed and she was so sweet. All communication with Richard was quick and easy. We had a great experience from first inquiry till the last day of our stay. Highly recommend.
